Vegetable Maggi Noodles recipe step by step pictures

We all love Maggi! Don’t know if there are exceptions… ”Din ho ya raat , bhukhe ho ya full, we can eat it anytime anywhere…. at least I can”. Surely all who have grown in Indian sub-continent will have nostalgia with Maggi and a “Maggi Story” to share.

This recipe only takes 10 minutes as you can do preparation and cooking simultaneously. This maggi is big hit with my daughter, she is fussy food eater as most of kids are, but when comes to maggie, she would generally be ready.

Rather than making it normal (read as putting the noodles in boiling water with maggi masala), I prefer to add vegetables, to make it healthier. Maggi is perfect food in student life and saving grace when there is nothing available to eat in late night for students in hostels.

Continue reading for the detailed “step by step recipe of vegetable maggi noodles”. This is an absolute filler and you can have as nice morning breakfast, evening snacks or as a meal.

Recipe type: Breakfast
Cuisine: Indian
Serves: 3 person
Ingredients
  • Maggi – 2 packet,
  • Onion – 1 big sized (thinly sliced),
  • Tomatoes – 2 small(finely chopped),
  • Bell pepper(chopped) – ½ cup,
  • Green peas – ½ cup (I have used frozen peas),
  • Green Chillies – 1 (chopped),
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon,
  • Red Chilli powder – ¼ teaspoon,
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon or as per taste,
  • Oil – 1.5 tablespoon
Instructions
  1. Keep 2 cup of water in a pan for boiling. Once it starts boiling, add Maggie keeping the Masala packet aside.
  2. Meanwhile, keep another pan on medium heat and add oil to it. Once warm, add sliced onion and sauté for a minute. Now add chopped bell pepper and sauté again for 2 minutes.
  3. Saute Onion for Maggi
  4. Saute Onion with Bell peppers
  5. To the sautéed peppers and onions, add green peas, chopped tomatoes and green chillies and sauté again.
  6. Maggie would be boiled by this time.
  7. Pour it into a colander so that all extra water drains and then pour 1 cup of cold water over it.
  8. This step helps in removing the stickiness of Maggie.
  9. Let water drain for 2 more minute.
  10. Add Salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder to the sautéed vegetables and sauté again for a minute.
  11. Now add boiled Maggie and start sautéing it so that it can mix well with the vegetables.
  12. Sprinkle the Maggie Masala now and mix it well. Switch off the flame and serve it hot.
  13. Serve it hot
Notes
If you wish, you can add more vegetables like green beans, cabbage and carrots to your Maggi.
You can skip the process of boiling Maggie separately. For this, add 1.5 cups of water to the sautéed vegetables and then add Maggie, and cook till all the water evaporates. I have made Maggie with both the recipes, somehow I like it more when boiled separately.
You can try this same recipe with other noodles too.
Some people try adding egg too, try that if you like egg.
